Appointment requirements:
- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
- Relevant security experience
- Grade C (PSIRA) qualification
- Physically fit and healthy

Personal attributes / competencies: Integrity, Patience, Energetic, Flexibility, Good communication skills

- Record products entering the market;
- check outgoing vehicles for possible theft;
- traffic control;
- check the perimeter for damages;
- check all stores and offices for break-ins, windows and doors that are open;
- report any patrol findings to the control office;
- log patrol departures and arrivals in the occurrence book and pocket book;
- visit every agent barrier;
- patrol the premises;
- monitor movement of personnel on the market floor during sales hours;
- protect personnel’s property, municipality’s assets from theft;
- escort cashiers to their duty points;
- regulate entrance into the cashiers complex;
- open and check cashier complex before cashiers can assume duty.
