Studying is expensive and the more specialised the degree the more you are likely to pay. Some students have to work part-time while studying in order to pay for their studies. This can be tough but will add to your experience and one day will be valuable on your CV.

Most students will need some form of assistance in order to pay for their studies.

Remember that most organisations use strict criteria during their bursary process. Always make sure that you are eligible before applying.

    Loans:

    The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) assists South African citizens with loans for study at the country's higher education institutions. Depending on the academic results of the student part of the loan can be converted to a bursary which does not have to be repaid. Application forms are at most university's financial aid offices or visit their website here.
