GET THE SKILLS - STUDY
Getting a tertiary education is never a mistake and people with degrees are on average better paid than those without it.
Institutions:
South Africa's universities, colleges and other higher education institutions are world-class and they offer a wide range of study and research options. There are also so many of them that you should have one close to you.
It is important to remember that most of these institutions have certain minimum requirements. It is therefore important to ensure that you know what you have to achieve at school in order to study further.

Field of study:
It is important to speak to a career guidance councillor while still in school. You will then have the luxury of taking the right subjects for what you want to study after school. It is almost impossible to know all the choices out there and it is here where a professional will be able to help you.
There are a number of career guidance options around the country:
Boston City Campus and Business College offers free counselling - contact its head office on (011) 485 2838 for more information.
A university or college close to you might also be able to assist.
Some psychologists do offer psychometric testing and career guidance.
